Gapyeong Welsh and Paju Challengers have advanced to the finals
After a hard-fought game, the Gapyeong Welsh and Paju Challengers have advanced to the finals of the 2024 KBO DREAM CUP Independent Baseball Tournament.
The Paju Challengers won 7-6 in the second game of the semifinals against the Seongnam MacPies at 9:30 a.m. today. Paju’s Koo Jun-beom (formerly of Samsung) dominated the Seongnam bats, striking out eight and allowing just one run (unearned) in 5⅓ innings of work.
The offense was led by Bae Hyun-ho (formerly of KIA), who hit back-to-back home runs, a one-run shot in the seventh inning and a three-run shot in the eighth inning, for a four-hit day. The winner of the final will receive a trophy and 20 million won, while the runner-up will receive a trophy and 10 million won.
The MVP of the tournament will receive a prize of 1 million won, while the winners of the best pitcher, best hitter, manager, and managerial awards will each receive 500,000 won.
