Han reaches US Open tennis women’s singles main draw

Han Na-rae (243rd, Bucheon City Hall) has advanced to the women’s singles main draw of the US Open Tennis Championships (USD 65 million – approx. KRW 857 billion), the last major tournament of the season.

Han defeated Elizabeth Mandlick (154th-ranked USA) 2-0 (6-3, 7-5) in the final of the women’s singles qualifying round at the US Open Tennis in New York, New York, USA, on Saturday (June 26).

Han will now compete in the main draw of the U.S. Open, which begins on Aug. 28.

This is the first time a Korean woman has competed in the main draw of a major tournament since Jang Soo-ju (152nd, Daegu City Hall) at the Australian Open in January last year.

This will be Han’s second career main draw appearance after the 2020 Australian Open.

In the first round of the singles main draw at the 2020 Australian Open, she was ranked 179th in the world at the time and lost 0-2 (3-6, 3-6) to 70th-ranked Tamara Zidansek (Slovenia).

The left-handed Han’s opponent for the first round of the singles main draw at this year’s US Open will be determined at a later date.

It has been 13 years since a South Korean woman reached the singles main draw at a tennis major since Cho Yun-jung at the 2007 US Open, followed by Jang Jang-jeong last year.

Kwon Soon-woo (104th-ranked Dangjin City Hall) and Han Na-rae will compete in the men’s singles draw at this year’s US Open.

Kwon will face Christopher Eubanks (30th-ranked USA) in the first round of the singles main draw.

Mandlik, who defeated Han earlier in the day, is the daughter of Hana Mandlikova (Czech Republic), who won four major singles titles in the 1980s.

Earlier this month, Mandlik won 2-1 (0-6, 6-1, 6-2) in the first round of qualifying for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour’s National Bank Open, but this time it was Han who was upset.

Leading 4-2 in the second set, Han dropped the next three games before rallying to win the next three games in a row to advance to the main draw.

Playing in the second round of women’s singles qualifying, 카지노사이트킴 Jang Jang Jung failed to advance after falling 0-2 (2-6, 4-6) to 363rd-ranked McCartney Kessler (USA).
