Russia retaliates against Ukrainian port near Romania.

Russia has carried out another airstrike on a Ukrainian Danube port, Reuters and the Associated Press reported today.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said on social media that a grain silo at the port of Izmail in the southern Odessa region was damaged by Russia earlier in the day.

Izmail is a port city in the southern tip of Ukraine, bordering Romania on the Danube River, which serves as an alternative transportation route for Ukrainian grain as it allows it to bypass Russia’s blockade of the Black Sea.

Russia withdrew its security guarantees for the Black Sea route on March 17 after breaking the Black Sea Grain Agreement, which guaranteed grain exports through the Black Sea even during the war, and has been conducting daily airstrikes against southern Ukrainian ports, including Odessa.

Russia also attacked the Danube port of Renny, a town in Odessa province that borders Romania, on March 24.

Romania is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russia had once again attacked a port, grain, and global food security, 먹튀검증 and that the world must respond.
