Woori Bank closes out the first round with a sweep.

Woori Bank Asan Woori WON won 92-78 against Incheon Shinhan Bank Esbud in the first round of the Woori Bank Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League at Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium 텍사스홀덤 on Feb. 22.

With the win, Woori Bank finished the first round in first place with an undefeated record.

Coach Lee Sat-woo said, “Actually, if we had won earlier, I wanted to adjust the players’ playing time because it was against Samsung Life after a day’s rest, but I think it was the coach’s greed. Anyway, (Park) Hye-jin-i definitely did her job well even though she wasn’t feeling well, and (Kim) Dan-bi’s burden was also reduced,” he said.

He continued, “With Hye-jin coming in, we’re playing more like basketball because we’re in sync with the existing players. There’s more spacing. Here’s (Lee) Myung-kwan, I don’t know where this is real. (Laughs) Anyway, he goes in when he goes in and he throws it when he throws it. He’s not slow on defense, he’s not slow on his feet, he’s doing a good job, so I don’t have anything to say about him anymore.”

When Yoo Seung-hee was out for the season due to injury, Satellite was in a panic, but with Park Hye-jin’s return, he has found a solution to some extent. That’s why it’s more important than ever for Park to stay in shape.

“I know she’s struggling a little bit because she hasn’t been training, but she’s a player I trust. I gave her 20-25 minutes of playing time today, but she played 27 minutes and did her part. I didn’t really think about the first round, but the players played so well. We’ll take a day off and start the second round against Samsung Life, and we’ll try to do well.”
