“I’ve been watching the KBO League for a while, and I’ve made a lot of preparations,” said Jeong Dae-hyun (44), the new Samsung Lions second team manager who returned to the professional baseball stage after six years.

“I recently received a call from Lee Jong-yeol (Samsung),” the new second-team coach told Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday, “and I’m grateful to Samsung for calling me back to the professional stage.”

Chung made a name for himself as one of South Korea’s best submarine pitchers during his playing days.

He played 16 seasons for the SK Wyverns (now SSG Landers) and Lotte Giants.

He was especially successful with the national team. In the final game of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he shut down a strong Cuban batting lineup to win the gold medal and is still remembered by many baseball fans.

Despite his stellar playing career, Chung was a late bloomer as a professional coach.

After retiring from Lotte in 2017, he trained with the Seibu Lions of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball, and from 2019 until this year, he was the pitching coach for Dong-A University’s baseball team.

Although he’s been away from the game for six years, he hasn’t completely turned his back on it.

He coached the Korean National Baseball Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, which concluded last month. He also continued to analyze KBO games.

Samsung president Lee Jong-yeol was well aware of Chung’s leadership and developmental skills.

He coached with Chung at the Hangzhou Asian Games, 카지노사이트랭크 and recently offered him the job of second team coach.

Although his title is second team coach, Chung plans to do a lot of different things.

“I’m not just going to be a manager, but I’m also going to be a coach,” he said, “and I’m going to work with coach Kang Young-sik (a new pitcher in the second team) to help young pitchers improve their skills.”

Since signing with Samsung, Chung has been closely monitoring the performance of the second team pitchers. He also plans to join the team soon and start coaching them in earnest.

“Samsung has a lot of good prospects,” he said, “and I will work hard behind the scenes to help them get back to the top.” 고스톱
