Bae keeps his promise to Little League players

Pittsburgh Pirates Bae Ji-hwan (24) is donating his talents.

Bae Ji-hwan’s agency, Now I Am Management, announced on May 5, “Bae Ji-hwan spent a warm time with the juniors of the Daegu Buk-gu Little Baseball Team. Bae Ji-hwan, who is preparing for the off-season in Busan, traveled to Daegu on the past two days to visit the training center to fulfill a promise he made to Daegu Buk-gu Little Kids in January to meet them again after the season.”

Accompanied by his YouTube channel, Yasin Yaduk, Bae actively engaged with the children by demonstrating batting, fielding, and baserunning and correcting their form. After the training, he sincerely answered the children’s numerous questions, giving them dreams and hope.

Kwon Jae-hyun, head coach of the Daegu Buk-gu B Little Baseball Team, said, “(Bae) Jihwan was different from a young age. Usually, children find it difficult to be supervised, but Ji-hwan had a different passion and attitude towards baseball, asking to throw the batting ball himself even after training. 안전놀이터 I hope the children could learn from this. “It was the first time I actually saw a player who plays in the major leagues. He talked to me a lot and joked with me, so I had a fun time. I want to play in the major leagues like Bae Ji-hwan in the future,” he said.

“I promised to visit them earlier this year and meet them again, and I’m glad I kept my promise. It was great to see them making new friends and enjoying baseball more than ever,” said Bae.

“When I was younger, I dreamed of playing in the major leagues and watching my seniors play, but now I have a new appreciation for the younger ones,” said Bae, who concluded by saying, “I hope that the friends I met today will grow up and become good players with a challenging mindset.”

Bae, who made his major league debut last year, batted .231 (77-for-334) with two home runs, 32 RBIs, 54 runs scored, 24 doubles, and a .608 OPS in 111 games this year. He’ll be aiming to establish himself as a solid starter next season.
