Masan Yongmar High School infielder Cha Seung-jun (17) and Gyeonggi High School catcher Lee Sang-jun (18) received the 2023 Lee Man-soo Home Run Award and the Catcher Award, respectively.Cha Seung-jun and Lee Sang-jun were honored with awards at the 7th Lee Man-soo Catcher and Home Run Award ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 21st.Seungjun Cha played in 25 high school baseball games this year, recording a batting average of 0.422, 7 home runs, 36 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.Cha Seung-jun, a second-year high school student, plans to play in high school baseball until next year before competing on the professional stage.

He expressed his thoughts about receiving the award, saying, “I want to improve my shortcomings by next year, get a good turn, and advance to the professional level.”When asked about his hopes of advancing to the Major League Baseball (MLB), he replied, “I’m still dreaming of the KBO League.”Sangjun Lee achieved a batting average of 0.243, 3 home runs, and 14 RBIs in 19 games this year.He was selected by the KIA Tigers in the third round of the 2024 rookie draft held last September, and took his first professional step by joining the KIA finishing 슬롯게이밍 camp held in Okinawa, Japan last month.
