Lim has failed to win his first game of the season again

LG Twins pitcher Lim Chan-kyu has failed to win his first game of the season again.

Lim, who led all Korean pitchers in the league with 14 wins last year, is winless in nine games (eight starts) this season. However, there is a silver lining. He has won two consecutive games in May and has an ERA of 0.82.

Lim pitched well against SSG at Jamsil Stadium, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings, but it wasn’t enough to get the win. He was replaced in the top of the seventh inning after falling behind 0-1, and the Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the inning. Lee Woo-chan, the second pitcher in the seventh inning, pitched one scoreless inning to earn the save.

In the top of the first, Choi Ji-hoon singled up the middle. With nobody out, he singled through the 2-4 center field line. He struck out Park Sung-sung to second, Choi Jung (126-kilometer changeup) and Heredia to right. The second through fourth innings ended with a triple play. In particular, Oh Tae-gon (124-kilometer changeup), Kim Chang-pyeong (128-kilometer changeup), 바카라사이트 Lee Ji-young (142-kilometer fastball), and Jeong Jun-jae (112-kilometer curveball) in the bottom of the second inning and Choi Jun-jae in the third inning were struck out in a four-hitter KKKK parade.

In the fifth,

Ko Myung-joon led off with a single, but Oh struck out Tae-gon Oh (141km fastball) to prevent the runner from stealing second. Kim walked Kim Chang-pyeong but got Lee Ji-young to fly out to center field. In the top of the sixth, Choi Ji-hoon singled and Park Sung-sung grounded to the second baseman to load the bases. Choi singled to left-center on a full count, and Park, who had started the inning with a single, raced home from second and third to make it safe.

Lim is now 3-1 with a 4.93 ERA in nine games this season without a win. He is the only one of 27 pitchers in the league without a win in regulation.

However, he has been pitching better lately. After throwing one scoreless inning out of the bullpen on April 28, he has pitched two consecutive quality starts in May. On April 2, he pitched five innings of three-hit ball with one walk and nine strikeouts against the Nats. The bullpen was activated in the sixth inning after LG took a 4-0 lead, allowing a 4-4 tie that cost them the win. “It was unfortunate that we couldn’t give Lim Chan-kyu his first win,” said manager Yeom Kyung-yup.

Against SSG on March 9

Lim recorded his second quality start of the season after giving up three runs in six innings against Hanwha on March 24, his first start of the season. In two games in May, he allowed one run in 11 innings with a 0.82 ERA.

His pitching design, which heavily utilizes his curveball and changeup, has improved as his mechanics have stabilized. “His curveball needs to be outside for (right-handed hitters), but if it’s in the middle, it’s good,” Dyeom said.

With foreign pitchers Kelly and Enns struggling, it’s a relief that Lim has regained his form from last year. By the end of April, 사설 토토사이트 LG had won just one game out of six in which Lim started. In May, he didn’t get the win in either of his two starts, but LG won both games. Lim’s next start is against Kiwoom. It will be interesting to see if he gets his first win.
