Pope mourns victims of Osong disaster…Call for Response to Climate Change
Pope Francis delivered a message of condolence and comfort, referring to South Korea, where heavy rains recently caused many casualties.
At the end of Sunday’s triad at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City on the 23rd, the pope expressed condolences and consolation to the flood victims and displaced people, saying, “We are suffering from abnormal heat waves and destructive fires on one side of the earth, while other areas have recently hit Korea.”
The pope also urged world leaders to take more concrete steps, saying more urgent action is needed to combat such climate change.
