‘Come on USA!’ Germany quells Latvian upset to reach World Cup quarterfinals

Latvia had two players score at least 20 points, but couldn’t pull out the win in the end. Artus Zagars had 24 points and eight assists and Davis Bertans had 20 points, but it was one shot short. They advanced past France and Spain, but were stopped by Germany. 

After holding off a Latvian upset, the Germans will face the reigning champions, the United States, in the final on Monday. The heavy favorites, the United States, demolished Italy in the quarterfinals on Friday. They exploded for 100 points on offense. In the other quarterfinal, Serbia defeated Lithuania 87-68 to join Germany in the semifinals.
