South Korean fencers secure gold, silver in women’s epee Song Se-ra
Women’s epee final between Korea and South Korea for the first time in 21 years
A head-to-head matchup between South Korean fencers has been finalized for the women’s individual
epee event at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
It has been 21 years since a South Korean athlete swept the gold and silver medals in the women’s epee

Song Sera (Busan Metropolitan Government) defeated Asian No. 1 Vivian Kong (Hong Kong) 15-11 in the
women’s epee quarterfinals at the Hangzhou Electronics University Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China on Thursday.
After taking a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period, Song took a 4-3 lead in the second period and scored the next three points.
After finishing the second period with an 8-4 lead, she faced a stiff challenge from Kong in the third
