LG veteran Kim Jin-sung pitched two multi-inning innings to earn the save.

Kim Jin-sung took the mound in the eighth inning of the game against KT at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Feb. 2. Earlier, Kim Dae-hyun, who pitched the eighth inning, gave up a walk, a hit, and a double (one RBI) to cut the deficit to 5-3.

Kim Jin-sung, who was preparing to close out the ninth inning, came on quickly. He got the first batter, Ahn Chi-young, to fly out to the catcher. He then walked Cho Myung-ho to load the bases.

Jin-sung gave up a run on a full count to Hwang Jae-gyun, who decided to walk. The score was 5-4. The bases were still loaded. Jin-sung Kim got Alford to ground out to third base on a one-ball, one-strike pitch to end the threat.

Back on the mound for the ninth inning, Jin-sung got Park Byung-ho to foul out to third base, Choi Jae-dae to fly out to left field, and Kim Jun-tae to strike out the pinch-hitter on three pitches to end the game. The scorekeeper gave Kim the win, not the save.

“I want to thank and praise Kim Jin-sung for coming out in a difficult situation in the eighth inning and pitching two good innings as a senior,” said manager Yeom Kyung-yeop after the game.

I got a two-inning save.

It’s not hard. I don’t even remember when I did it (a two-inning save). I think it was probably in 2014 (during the NCs)…

-On how hard it was to pitch the second inning.

I didn’t feel tired, but I was worried about my concentration. I tried to throw as hard as I could, and thankfully it worked out. Do-hwan did a good job of leading off.

-In the eighth inning, I had a tough situation with back-to-back walks.

I got a forked ball on the first pitch, so I think I was mentally chasing it. In the ninth inning, I decided to go for the fastball first, even if I got hit. I got the first batter, Byung-ho Park, out. In the eighth inning, it was a little bit difficult, but in the ninth inning, I mainly threw fastballs.

-In the 8th inning, with the bases loaded, you switched to a fastball.

He originally signed for a forkball, 먹튀검증 but he said he was going to go with a fastball. I think that was a good call.
