FC Seoul has signed South Korea international Kang Sang-woo

FC Seoul has signed South Korea international Kang Sang-woo (31). He will wear the number 15 jersey.

FC Seoul’s squad has been strengthened with the addition of Sang-woo Kang, who adds weight to the side. Kang Sang-woo is a versatile resource who can play on both flanks of the defense and has also played in the midfield for his previous club, Beijing Guoan.

Reunited with his old mentor Kim Ki-dong at FC Seoul, Kang Sang-woo’s wide range, pace, and precise crossing ability are expected to add to the destructiveness of the FC Seoul flank.

After joining Pohang in the 2014 season from Jaehae High School and Kyunghee University, Kang has 20 goals and 25 assists in 191 games in the K League.

In particular, he won the K League 1 Most Valuable Player Award and K League 1 Best 11 in the 2020 season with eight goals and 12 assists in 26 games, and in 2021, he proved his worth by winning the K League 1 Best 11 for the second consecutive season with four goals and eight assists in 37 games.

Since moving to Beijing Guoan in April 2022,

Kang Sang-woo has continued to be the team’s ace in the Chinese Super League, scoring one goal in 57 games, regardless of his position in the center or on the flanks.

“I am honored to join FC Seoul, the biggest club in the K League,” said Kang. I have many good memories with coach Kim Ki-dong and as a versatile player who can play multiple positions, 스포츠토토 I hope to help the coach achieve his new goals. FC Seoul is a team that needs to compete for the championship, so I will do my best to make the fans happy this season,” he said.

After finalizing the signing process, Kang will immediately join the squad and begin preparations for the team’s return to the K League.

With the addition of Kang Sang-woo, Seoul will have an even stronger roster. After Jesse Lingard, who has been one of the most sought-after players this season, the addition of Kang Sang-woo, who made his way to China with Pohang, is highly anticipated.

Seoul, meanwhile, will open the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 at 4 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Their opponent will be Incheon United. Both teams lost in the first round and will be looking for their first win of the season.

The all-time record between the two teams,

known as the “Gyeongin Derby,” is 24 wins, 21 draws, and 17 losses in favor of Seoul, but last season’s match was a dead heat with one win and one draw.

The derby is one of the most iconic matches in the K League, but there’s another issue that’s much more topical. Lingard’s home debut.

Lingard made his K League 1 debut as a substitute against Gwangju, and in the short time he was on the field, he showed off his bold mid-range shots and exquisite passing, raising expectations for the future.

In fact, Lingard’s effect was incredible. The match is expected to be the largest K League 1 home opener in history, with more than 33,000 fans in advance. The previous record was 39,871, set by Daegu in 2013.
