KCC-KT EASL qualifies for East Asia’s strongest team!

KBL champion KCC and runner-up KT will compete in the East Asia Super League (EASL).

Japan’s B.LEAGUE 2023-2024 season champion Hiroshima Dragon Flyers and runner-up Ryukyu Golden Kings have qualified for the East Asian Super League EASL 2024-2025 season.

Representing the B.LEAGUE, Hiroshima and Ryukyu will compete for the East Asian Professional Basketball championship in the EASL 2024-2025 season against South Korea’s KBL 2023-24 season champion Busan KCC Aegis and runner-up Suwon KT Sonic Boom, as well as Taiwan’s P.LEAGUE+ and the two best teams in the Philippine PBA, 스포츠토토존 to be determined at a later date.

The Hiroshima Dragon Flyers were crowned champions of the B.LEAGUE 2023-24 season on May 28, defeating the Ryukyu Golden Kings two games to one in the championship game. Hiroshima lifted the B.LEAGUE championship trophy for the first time in the franchise’s history.

EASL CEO Henry Kerins said: “The EASL is excited to see the B.LEAGUE winner and runner-up compete once again on the EASL stage to be crowned East Asian Champions. We look forward to playing again in Okinawa, home of the Ryukyu Golden Kings, with whom we worked together last season, and to seeing what the Hiroshima Dragon Flyers have in store for the 2024-25 season.”

B.LEAGUE President Shinji Shimada said, “The Hiroshima Dragon Flyers, champions of the Japan B.LEAGUE 2023-24 season, and the Ryukyu Golden Kings, runners-up, will represent the B.LEAGUE in the EASL next season. The two teams proved why they are two of the best teams in Japan after a year of fierce competition in the B.LEAGUE. Last season, the Chiba Jets were crowned EASL champions. We look forward to seeing one of Hiroshima or Ryukyu bring the trophy back to Japan next EASL season.”

The groupings for the EASL 2024-2025 season were agreed upon by the participating leagues earlier this year, with the B.LEAGUE champions Hiroshima Dragon Flyers placed in Group A and the runners-up Ryukyu Golden Kings in Group B. The EASL 2024-2025 season will be played in the EASL 2024-2025 season.
